In less than 48 hours, I will be moving my son into his new dorm room at Catawba College. I cannot begin to tell you about all of the different emotions that I have experienced over the last few months as this day has drawn closer.
I am so super proud of my son and the things that he has accomplished over the last couple of years. He has just blossomed as he has discovered his love for music. I just have this feeling that he is going to accomplish great things!
I am so thankful for our church, our family, and our friends. I truly believe that it takes a village to raise a child. For each person who has encouraged, listened, prayed, and loved him, I am eternally grateful!
I am also extremely thankful for all of the many things that fell so perfectly into place as we have prepared for this new adventure. We have been amazed at the opportunities that have been presented and everything that he has wanted or needed, has been provided. Many of our family and our friends have graciously supported him in many ways and I am humbled!
I am so glad that our son has such wonderful friendships with people at our church and at his high school. There have been some great young men and women who have entered the doors of our home and we are expecting them to return. Our door is always open!
My son and I share a special bond and it seems that nobody knows me quite like he does. I am at peace with the choices that he has made regarding his college and his career. While I know that I will miss him terribly, I cannot wait to see what's ahead!
