Can you cut your grocery bill by 50%?

Yes! Will it be easy? No! If anyone tells you that it will be easy, run! It takes work: learning, planning, calculating, shopping carefully, and perseverance.

Over the last couple of days, I've visited CVS a couple of more times, Food Lion a couple of times, and Harris Teeter. Today, things were definitely a challenge and I had to hang in there.

Food Lion has great prices this week on ground chuck, split chicken breast, and pork loin. When I reached the pork counter, the spot for the pork loin was bare. There was a dear lady there stocking the counter and (bless her heart) she tried to give me a Boston butt. She didn't know what a pork loin was - I'm serious! Anyway, she did ask another store employee who was able to determine that they had two cases in the back ready to put out. Yippee! Unfortunately, I also had trouble with a catalina not printing. I purchased 10 Food Lion brand yogurts and should have received a catalina for $2.50 off of my next order. After a trip to customer service, I walked out with a handwritten 'coupon' for $3.00 off of my next order.

(On a side note here: Food Lion yogurt is $0.22 everyday. The BEST price for yogurt!)

When I reached Harris Teeter, it was nuts! I think everyone in Chapel Hill was at the grocery store at the same time! Anyway, I went in specifically to pick up this week's meal deal and some tuna. Unfortunately, both were out and I had to quickly rethink my entire planned list. It's okay, I did it!

As it turns out, I still ended my week with FREE toothpaste, $2.99 Tide, $0.49 Old Spice Shower Gel, $0.79 Aussie hair products, $0.49 Febreeze, and some great meat. Yes, it took planning, calculating, and persistence, but, I did it and you can too!
