Over the last few months, Food Lion has been become a bit more competitive by offering better sales and an occasional 'Wow' deal.
Here is how I did tonight:
(1) Sunshine Cheez-it Crackers (Family Size) $5.39 (on sale for $3.99)
(1) 2ltr Dr. Pepper $1.99 (on sale for $0.99 - coupon printed at kiosk for $0.50 off)
(1) Zesta saltines $2.79
(2) Kraft Dressing $2.59 ea (on sale for $2.00 ea - UGH - forgot to use my $1.00 off of 2 coupon!)
(1) Pepperidge Farm Goldfish $2.39 (on sale for $2.19 - SavingStar savings of $0.50)
(4) Luck's Blackeye Peas $0.97 ea (on sale for $0.50 ea)
(2) Oscar Myer Beef Hotdogs $4.99 ea (on sale BOGO)
(.78 lb) Tomatoes $2.69/lb (on sale for $1.69/lb)
(2) Dole Classic Iceberg Prepared Salad $1.57 ea (on sale for $0.99 ea)
(1) Stouffers Stuffed Green Peppers $3.99
(9) Green Giant Boxed Vegetables $1.39 ea (on sale for $1.00 ea - (3) coupons for $0.60 off of 3)
(2) Minute Maid Punch (1/2 gal) $1.79 ea (on sale for $0.88 ea)
(2) Tai Pei Eggrolls $2.69 ea
(1) Dean's French Onion Dip (SavingStar savings of $0.75)
Total: $44.50 (Total would have been $64.73 - a savings of $20.23 + $1.25 SavingStar savings = $21.48)
Of course, with hubby in tow this evening, there were a couple of extra purchases - Kahiki Eggrolls, Zesta Saltines, Stouffers Peppers, and Tai Pei Eggrolls - but it was okay since it is unusual for him to go with me to the grocery.
Not a bad evening of savings - $71.87!
