Rolling Extra Care Bucks at CVS

A few posts ago, I mentioned how I had visited CVS to pick up a few deals. I saved over $170 and received $50.00 back in Extra Care Bucks (ECBs). Today, I took another trip over to CVS and was able to roll some of them into new deals. Here is what I did.

1 - Excedrin Migraine Bonus Pack (100ct + 24 ct) $8.99
1 - Mucinex Maximum Strength (28 ct) $23.99
1 - Glade 4 oz Candle Jar Bonus Pack (2 pk) $5.49
1 - Revlon Age-Defying Liquid Foundation $13.99
1 - Revlon Powder Blush $9.99
1 - Kleenex w/ Lotion 3 pk Bundle $3.69
1 - Nature Valley Oats & Honey Granola Bar Bonus Pack (2 boxes) $6.99
---------------------------------------------------------------------
TBD: $73.13

-$9.99 Revlon BOGO
-$1.50 Excedrin Migraine CVS Coupon received in mail
-$2.00 Mucinex Coupon
-$1.00 Glade Jar Coupon
-$2.00 Revlon Coupon
-$1.00 Revlon Coupon
-$0.50 Kleenex Coupon
-$0.50 Nature Valley Coupon
-$6.00 ECB earned in prior visit
-$10.00 ECB earned in prior visit
----------------------------------------------------------------------
OOP: $41.39

***Note that I could have used more of my ECBs from my last visit and paid nothing OOP here; however, it is my goal to always keep $40-$50 in ECBs in my pocket. We also have a pre-tax flex spending account through my hubby's employer, so it covers most of our typical drug store over-the-counter medicines, etc. When purchasing items that I know it will cover, I try to loosely calculate my remaining items' OOP so that I don't go into the negative after that card is swiped. The actual amount that I had to pay after the flex spending items were removed was $6.18. Hope that makes sense.***

Anyway, I earned the following ECBs on this purchase:

$3.00 for purchasing Excedrine
$2.00 for purchasing Glade Candles
$1.00 for purchasing Kleenex
$3.00 for purchasing Nature Valley

So, I still have $43.00 in ECBs in my pocket! Yippee! Now, do you see what I mean by 'rolling' your ECBs? My initial purchase from last week funded $16.00 of this week's purchase and I got more ECBs - hopefully, for some good deals next week!
