Not So Bad Afterall!

I learned this Easter that breaking away from tradition is not so bad afterall. For years, my little family has done the same thing on Easter every year. This year we chose to break from the tradition. Easter Sunday morning was beautiful! I got up before the sun rose and before the kiddos got up. I went outside for a bit and was able to enjoy a beautiful sunrise. Then, off to make sure that the Easter bunny had done his job of hanging eggs in the bushes outside of our front door before coming in to leave a few goodies. Soon, the house was awake, my dear hubby was off to work, and the day was off to a running start. After a little bit of time to enjoy some chocolate and new toys, my son and I got ready for church. My daughter had been sick and wasn't able to go to church. She was so disappointed because she didn't get to wear her new Cinderella dress and bonnet. It broke my heart! Off to church, to lead the Easter Cantata. Then, guess where we had Easter lunch? MacDonalds! After that, I decided, at the last minute, to cook up an Easter meal. We had ham, potato salad, mixed greens, deviled eggs, and rolls. For dessert, my kiddos made a cake! I cooked the layers and they did all the rest. It turned out great! After my hubby got home, I went and got my Mom and we had a great time of fellowship around the dinner table. The day turned out to be very different than in years past, but, it was a very relaxing day full of laughter. Maybe, we have some new traditions, huh?
